| Beliefs and Practices Our beliefs are founded and rooted in Scripture. The following are some of the important aspects of our faith.
Baptism: Is for mature individuals who are old enough to make their own decisions, and is by immersion--the accepted New Testament practice. Membership: New members are received upon affirmation of faith and baptism (You need not be re-baptized...First Christian Church accepts other forms of baptism from various denominations) Two questions are asked, "Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ?" and "Do you accept Him as Lord and Savior?" Normal procedure is to meet the pastor at the front during the Hymn of Invitation. Most membership transfers follow the same procedure. The Lord's Supper: The weekly observance of the sacrament of the Lord's Supper tells us of the reverence of Holy Communion. All who believe that Jesus is Lord (regardless of church affiliation) are welcome to participate.
